The Assam Legislative Assembly is organizing its second Internship Programme foryoung talents of the state under the ‘Speaker’s Initiative’ programme from 1st July, 2019.The Internship has been aimed to provide opportunity to the young talents to acquaintthemselves with the working of parliamentary democracy practised in the Assam Legislative Assembly so that young talents could be motivated to take serious interest in theparliamentary democratic process of the state for continuation of a more healthy & vibrantdemocracy in the days to come.
Duration : One month.
Eligibility :
- Applicants must be students from the Under-graduate level to the Post-Graduate classes.
- Age of applicants should be between 18 years and 25 years as on January 1, 2019.
- Applicants must submit a ‘Recommendation cum No Objection Certificate’ from theHead of the Institution/Head of the Department where he or she is currently studying.
- Applicants must submit a resume and a write-up not exceeding 300 words as towhy he or she intends to join the Internship Programme.
- The Assam Legislative Assembly Secretariat reserves the right to cancel theinternship awarded to an applicant at any stage without assigning any reason there of.
Stipend and other facilities :
- Each selected candidate will be offered a stipend ofRs 5,000 for the period of internship, which will be disbursed on successful completionof the Internship Programme.
- The Assembly Secretariat will provide free accommodation and food to outstation candidates while those from Guwahati will beprovided free refreshment during the daytime.
- No Travelling Allowance will be providedfor the to and fro travel of the selected candidates.
- Interns will be given a Certificateof Participation on successful completion of the Internship Programme.
