Send Your Name To Mars- Fly along with NASA

0

NASA is calling on the public to fly abroad next to Mars Rover. NASA gives the public the opportunity to send their names — stenciled on chips — to the Red Planet with NASA's Mars 2020 rover, the first leg of humanity's first round trip to another planet. The rover is scheduled to start in July 2020, with the spacecraft expected to hit Mars in February 2021.

How Your Names Will Travel To The Red Planet

At NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) in Pasadena, California, the Microdevices Laboratory will use an electron beam to stencil the names submitted on a silicon chip with text lines smaller than one thousandth of a human hair's width (75 nanometers). Under a glass cover, the chip (or chips) will ride on the rover.
