The recruitment will be jointly implemented by Zoological Survey of India (ZSI), Kolkata and the Department of Zoology, Gauhati University, Assam. Selected candidates will work on field surveys, laboratory work, fish sampling, data collection, report preparation, and research activities related to invasive fish species management in Northeast India.

🎓 Eligibility

Junior Research Fellow (JRF) / Junior Project Fellow (JPF)

• Master’s Degree in Zoology, Wildlife Science, or equivalent relevant subject from a UGC recognized university.
• Candidates must have minimum 60% aggregate marks.
• Preference will be given to candidates having experience in field surveys and conservation genetics.
• Knowledge of fish collection, eDNA sampling, DNA extraction, PCR, fish taxonomy, ecology, and invasive species management is desirable.
• Applicants should possess data entry and documentation skills.
• Willingness to travel extensively across Northeast India is required.
• Maximum Age Limit: 28 Years

Technical Assistant

• Bachelor’s Degree in Zoology, Life Sciences, or Wildlife Science from a recognized university.
• Candidates should have minimum 50% marks.
• Master’s Degree holders with minimum 60% marks will be given preference.
• Experience in field survey, laboratory work, DNA extraction, MS Office, and data entry is desirable.
• Maximum Age Limit: 40 Years

💰 Salary
